Gowa DPRD Response
Wakil Ketua DPRD Kabupaten Gowa Hasrul Abdul Rajab said the council respects and accepts the Supreme Court decision.
“Kami menghormati dan menerima putusan Mahkamah Agung yang telah mengabulkan permohonan DPRD Kabupaten Gowa terkait pemberhentian Bupati Gowa,” kata Hasrul Abdul Rajab, Wakil Ketua DPRD Kabupaten Gowa, Jumat, 02/10/2026.
Hasrul emphasized the process was not a political move for a specific group but part of institutional mechanism that must be followed according to law.
He added the decision must be placed within the legal framework and the interests of Gowa Regency residents.
Legal Process
The Supreme Court’s review follows the mechanism set out in Law Number 23 of 2014 concerning Regional Government where the Court holds authority over DPRD opinion tests on regional head dismissal.
The case was examined by three Supreme Court justices Dr. H. Irfan Fachruddin, S.H., CN., Dr. Hj. Lulik Tri Cahyaningrum, S.H., M.H., and Prof. Dr. H. Yodi Martono Wahyunadi, S.H., M.H.
Administrative consequences after the ruling still follow the steps prescribed by law.
The decision does not automatically result in the regent’s dismissal; further administrative procedures are required.
Gowa DPRD stated it will follow all subsequent stages as stipulated by law without speculation on what lies ahead.
The case marks the latest development in the legal process concerning the proposed dismissal of the Gowa Regent originally initiated by the DPRD through its Right of Opinion.
